Boy With a Ball is about developing and releasing leaders who can turn and make the same impact on others. This is exactly what is happening with Boy With a Ball/El Niņo y La Bola's San Jose, Costa Rica team
Many of you have walked with us over the past several months as we began the process of building a much-needed community center in the Nicaraguan squatter's settlement, the "precario". From conversations with Auburn University's Graduate Design and Build Program that began about a year ago to the final coats of paint going on the walls this week, we are close to being finished!!
This Wednesday, we will celebrate the center inauguration in collaboration with Western Union Foundation. National press from both Costa Rica and Nicaragua will be present as well as Western Union's Foundation Vice-President. Part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony will include a short song by some of the children from our children's group and a few words from Raquel Henriquez, our office administrator, member of the community from within the precario and a key part of our team here in Costa Rica.
You have been part of this building process! Whether small or large, the part that all of you have played walking with us in this process has been huge! Thank you! We are very excited to see the impact that the center will have on the community and the team here.
